Living with Greed

I would like to start off the post by saying sorry to those waiting for the actual post of “Women and Feminism”. So far I have not had the motivation I originally had to write the post. It should come out later on but don’t expect it out really soon. Anyways back to the actual post.

Greed. A single characteristic that we have been taught to condemned and to avoid since an early age, starting with not being greedy and sharing your toys (which I was never willing to learn). As we grew, we were encouraged to avoid being greedy whether with our food, our possessions, or our money. It seems there is a continuous list of what we shouldn’t be greedy with, because it’s “bad” and “mean”. Other people believe that greed is a wonderful thing to have in communities because it has some positive side effects, like being greedy for knowledge has the possibility of new discoveries.
Good_versus_Evil_Greed
Most people condemn or agree before they know all the facts about greed. This post is meant to give both pros and cons of greed, and give the people enough information for an educated decision. Please note that I may not put EVERY LAST DETAIL into pros and cons. The viewers are welcome to provide information or disagree in the comments section (please do so RESPECTFULLY and do NOT be RUDE).

The idea of being greedy is bad has been implanted into us by our parents and teachers early in our childhood. So why is it considered such an awful trait by so many people? I believe some of the fear of greed comes from occurrences related to greed. There has been times where greed has made another human being injure or maim another for possessions or objects with value. Thus the fear of young children or anyone becoming violent due to greed, makes the characteristic of being greedy one of the most shunned. The feeling of pity is another reason why greed can often be disliked. In terms of income, some workers barely make enough to survive…while company executives or managers make hundreds of thousands a year and give themselves pay-raises. Thus we picture those executives as greedy and want them to give the money to those who need it. As a result, people consider being “greedy” is a bad thing. In some cases it is.
greed bad
Another view point towards the characteristic is, “What’s wrong with being greedy? It is reasonable or necessary in life”. People have told us “don’t be greedy, it’s important to share”. Let’s put that policy into the business world then. Without greed, there would be no improvements. Why? Picture it this way. Lets say on one hand, a company pays all employees the same. All work hours, all products, all responsibilities get the same pay regardless. As a result there is no motivation to do anything well, after all, if people “share” all money equally or never get a raise what is the point of working hard? With greed, people will work harder in companies and innovation in order to get that chance of selling more for money or getting a raise. The reward and the greedy desire for that reward is what drives our economy. In this case it is actually good.
greed good
In the end, it is your opinion if greed is good or evil. Like I said earlier, if you guys think I missed anything or should include anything, please comment at the bottom. Or if you disagree and want to tell me why, please comment on the bottom as well…just please be mature and respectable. I will take into consideration on what you guys say. No one pays attention to rude comments.

Women and Feminism: Asking for equality or asking for more? The Intro

We have all heard it, from its beginning period of the early 1800s to present time. What once was thought as a fools idea of the past, seems to have grown to almost a religion to me…or even comparable to a samurai’s code for women today! Even the girls in my English class constantly talk about “women’s rights” and “equality for women”. The idea of women’s rights and equality is all good and well in my book, but in today’s present time…it feels that the end result of this movement has made a change. In fact…it seems to have become a revolution to pamper women and lessen the man in the interactions. This post will stir up some opinions, women will disagree in anger, men will agree in hope, and overall conflict will rule! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!…*ahem* sorry

husband vs wife

Now I know, some people out there are saying, “No, women are treated less fairly by men.” and “All we women want are equal rights”. Sure, if you were saying that in the late 1700s and 1800s I would agree women do deserve such treatment. However, in our current time period is it really necessary to rally and say women should have more power? It is common today for women in to all have equal rights as men, in the United States of America and our allies. So why the demand for more?…Think about it.

This is the intro to a post I will be making later on in the future. Please tell me if it is a good idea and if there is anything to fix.
